UTCC Ambassador Talks Series: New Zealand

On 18 November 2020, H.E. Mr. Taha Macpherson, Ambassador of New Zealand to Thailand, came to UTCC to deliver a speech on “Education between New Zealand and Thailand: A Foundation for the Future”. It was a great opportunity for our Thai and international students to learn more about the study options in New Zealand.

UTCC Visits the Royal Embassy of Cambodia

On 17 November 2020, the Office of International Relations team visited the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Bangkok. The Cambodian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Ouk Sorphorn extended a very warm welcome to the delegation.

UTCC expressed its plan to open an international branch in Cambodia to provide options for Cambodian students who wish to pursue their studies in ASEAN member countries. In addition, UTCC would provide additional scholarships to Cambodian students to enhance Cambodian human resources development in business and commerce.

The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the active cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.

International Language and Culture Day

To provides our students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the values of cultural diversity on 11 November 2020, the Office of International Relations organized the “International Language and Culture Day”. The event started with the welcome speech from Ms. Parichart Thammajinda, Head, Office of International Relations followed by the Chinese traditional-dance performance. Students set up, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean, and ASEAN booths with plenty of games, quizzes, and puzzles for participants to enjoy and to learn international languages and culture. In the afternoon, the International Singing Contest started with a traditional Chinese-Japanese drum performance and a K-Pop dance performance by the students of the School of Humanities. Thereafter 16 talented students sang English, Chinese, Khmer, Burmese, Japanese, and Korean language songs.

UTCC International Movies Week

From 02 – 06 November 2020, UTCC students experienced the first-ever “International Movies Week” at UTCC. It was a huge hit among the students and they enjoyed every day of the movies week. During the week student enjoyed and learned about different cultures from British, American, Korean, Japanese, and European movies. We concluded the week with fantastic student participation numbers. Event facts – 5 Days, 10 Movies, 950 Students participation.

Grand Opening of the UTCC International Month 2020

On 2nd November 2020, the Office of International Affairs at UTCC hosted the grand opening of the “International Month 2020” at Co-Working Space, Building 10. The event was attended by the delegates of the American Embassy, British Council, Japan Foundation, and supported by the European Union, USC School of Cinematic Arts, and American Film Showcase. Ms. Parichart Thammajinda, Director of International Affairs gave the welcome speech and shared the purpose and objective of having “International Month”. Later Dr. Jakarin Srimoon, Vice President of International Affairs shared the list of all the activities lined up for students later in the month. Dr. Jakarin also motivated students to participate and learn international culture through various upcoming activities.

Collaborative Programs with Australian Embassy

UTCC Office of International Relations team had the pleasure of visiting Australian Embassy to meet H.E. Mr. Allan McKinnon PSM, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, Ms. Susan Kahwati, Sr. Trade and Investment Commissioner and Ms. Busarin Sinthunavarat, Education Manager. The Australian Embassy team was very excited to learn about our unique two-degree program with University of Newcastle, Australia. Mr. Allan McKinnon PSM, appreciated UTCC’s initiative to offer Australian degree in Thailand and offered his support to strengthen the academic ties between the two universities. UTCC expresses gratitude to Australian Ambassador to accept our invitation to be a special speaker for  “UTCC Ambassadors Talk Series” to share his experience to inspire our students to become visionary leaders.

British Embassy Bangkok Visits UTCC

Mr. Mark Smithson, Deputy Director and Ms. Nantamas Chatraporn, Trade Manager from British Embassy Bangkok paid a courtesy visit to UTCC.

British Embassy showed keen interest to support activities focusing on improving the English language proficiency at UTCC. They were excited to learn about UTCC’s career-oriented Accountancy and Digital Art programs.

After the meeting, UTCC students gave a campus tour to the British Embassy delegation.

UTCC Visits the Embassy of New Zealand

UTCC delegation headed by the Vice President – Dr. Jakarin Srimoon visited the Embassy of New Zealand to meet H.E. Mr. Taha Macpherson, New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand and his team.

During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Taha Macpherson shared his interest to develop deeper educational ties between the two countries. He appreciated the international two-degree program running at UTCC. The New Zealand Embassy team offered support to connect to New Zealand universities and find the right partners to offer Double Degree programs in Thailand. Both organizations highlighted that they would actively support the educational cooperation projects between the two countries and develop closer ties.
