Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry(MRCCI) Visits UTCC

On 24 November 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanavath Phonvichai, President of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Mr. Win Htay, President of the ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜† (๐— ๐—ฅ๐—–๐—–๐—œ), ๐— ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ, and his team on their official visit to Thailand to discuss ways to expand on-going academic cooperation between the two organizations. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattapan Buavaraporn, Dean, International School for Management (ISM), along with faculty members from ISM and Ms. Parichart Thammajinda, Head of the Office of International Relations, join to welcome the delegation.

UTCC and University of Newcastle, Australia signed a MOU

On 21 November 2022, UTCC Office of International Relations hosted Prof. Kent Anderson, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Global of University of Newcastle (UON), Australia for a MOU signing ceremony at UTCC. This MOU reinforces our commitment to further strengthen our ongoing relationship. Various options of collaboration were addressed during the discussion including;
1. Creating inbound and outbound short programs.
2. Increase student interaction activities between the two universities.
3. Internship opportunities for Australian students in Thailand.
Since 2019 UTCC and UON have been jointly running a Two-Degree program at the bachelor’s level, offering an opportunity for UTCC students to earn an accredited Australian degree while studying full-time in Thailand.

New Zealand student delegates visit UTCC

On 21 November 2022, UTCC Office of International Relations, in collaboration with the International School of Management, welcomed a student group from ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ป ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜†, ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐—ญ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ. Various activities were organized for the visiting student group to learn Thai arts and culture, such as wearing the Loin cloth, Thai dancing, and playing the traditional Thai music instrument Angkalung.
Dr. Piraphong Foosiri, Vice President for International Relations, and Ms. Parichart Thammajinda, Head of Office of International Relations, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Wasinee Thammasiri, Program Director, Bachelor of Accounting program at the International School of Management, discussed future collaborations on the Master of Professional Accounting program with Professor Christopher Gan from Lincoln University.

UTCC Ambassador Talk Series – Peru

The UTCC Office of International Relations welcomed ๐—›.๐—˜. ๐— ๐˜€. ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—ญ. ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฎ, Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, to give a lecture on “Peru: Gateway to South America” on November 4, 2022, as part of our ongoing on-campus engagement, the “๐—จ๐—ง๐—–๐—– ๐—”๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ธ๐˜€ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€“. H.E. Ms. Cecilia Z. Galarreta discussed Peru’s economic potential and the development of bilateral trade between Peru and Thailand. There were about 80 student participants, and many of them expressed interest in participating in exchange programs with Peruvian universities.

Dr. Piraphong Foosiri, UTCC’s Vice President for International Relations, addressed a vote of thanks and presented the Ambassador with a souvenir after the lecture.

On 4 November 2022, UTCC Office of International Relations along with UTCC International School of Management – ISM hosted Dr. Myo Thet, Vice President of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Yangon, Myanmar and his team for a MOU signing ceremony at UTCC.
The signing of the MOU between UTCC and UMFCCI is an important milestone in strengthening the 10 years of collaboration between the two organizations. We are certain that the relationship will keep raising the bar for educational excellence and enhancing Myanmar’s human resource potential.
UTCC and UMFCCI jointly runs โ€œOffshore Global MBAโ€ program in Yangon. This unique academic partnership offer Myanmar students access to UTCC Global MBA program, while living and working in Myanmar.

Diwali celebration at UTCC

On 21 October 2022, the Office of International Relations organized a Diwali celebration at UTCC. Diwali is a famous festival of India, also known as the “Festival of Lights.” The purpose of the event was to introduce and teach a new culture to our students through fun ways.
It was a unique experience for UTCC students to learn about Diwali and Indian culture. During the event, we enjoyed various Indian cultural performances; students played a quiz about India and won exciting prizes; and lastly, we tasted a delicious Indian dessert called “Gulab-Jamun.” A special thanks to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations for supporting our event and to all the talented dancers for the lovely performances.

 

 

The University of Newcastle, Australia visited UTCC

A great start of the 2022 Academic Year with the first onsite meeting with ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜„๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜๐—น๐—ฒ (๐—จ๐—ข๐—ก), ๐—”๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฎ our two-degree program partner. Prof. Caroline Chan, Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Partnerships and Mr. Bret Sutcliffe, Manager, Transnational Education from UON visited UTCC on 19 August, 2022 to review the two-degree program and to discuss new areas of collaboration between the two universities.

Ambassador of Peru visited UTCC

Newly appointed Ambassador of Peru to Thailand, H.E. Ms. Cecilia Z. Galarreta Bazan along with her team members Mrs. Carmen Azurin, Minister/Deputy Head of Mission and Mr. Erick Aponte, Counsellor visited UTCC on 7 July 2022.

Peru Embassy and UTCC discussed various areas of collaborations such as:

  1. Develop short programs in tourism, gastronomy, and hospitality industry.
  2. Develop more meaningful partnerships between UTCC and Peru Universities.
  3. Joint research in the area of business and commerce.
  4. H.E. Ms. Cecilia showed keen interest to participate in activities focusing on cultural exchange to showcase Peruvian language, art and cuisine.

On 30 March 2022, H.E. Dr. Ramadhani K.Dau, The High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Malaysia visited UTCC on his official visit to Thailand. UTCC management team and the delegation from Tanzania discuss and exchange ideas on promoting cooperation in education and human resources development, in various fields related to the overall growth of the country, focusing on tourism & services businesses.

Logo contest on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Thailand

In 2022, Poland and Thailand will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. On this occasion, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bangkok invites you to participate in the Contest entitled โ€œLogo contest on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Thailandโ€ to create a logo commemorating and promoting this occasion.

The winning logo, selected from the submitted Contest Artworks, has to symbolize a friendly and partner-like relationship between Poland and Thailand, based on mutual respect and understanding.
